Grand Re-Opening of Chad Sexton's Drum City

June 12th, 2010 was a great day that I will remember forever. Good thing I found out about this the night before. Chad Sexton (drummer of 311) had his Re-Opening of his drum store with free giveaways, free food, raffles, and lots of gear. There was even a student practicing in the drum room.
Chad and his mom were behind the counter checking out a never ending line of customers. Chad took time to take pictures and sign stuff of lucky fans. It was cool to meet the man who helped me shape my drumming style and made me pick up sticks in the first place. Tim Mahoney (guitarist) showed up about a half-hour after we got there. Got to chat with him a little about the new album. P-Nut (bassist) showed up not long after but didn't talk to him for long. Check out the pics below.

Although a bunch of my friends love this show and I do support the arts, I agree with Omar (minus the belly punching).

So here's the trailer for the new A-Team movie. I don't know what to think... kind of expected it to be blown out of proportion but I will still see it. I am starting to feel old, though. Sometimes I wish they could make 'em the way they used to.

If you haven't heard of these guys- you need to check them out. They hail from New York... blending smart, funny raps with catchy, rocking melodies. "Volumizer" is one of my favorite albums of all-time. Also, pick up Enter The Gold Hat, their live DVD. Unfortunately they are not a band anymore. They just did a mini reunion tour recently and will soon release a documentary film on the tour/reunion.

The video for The Roots' new single, "How I Got Over" was just released. BlackThought singing? I can dig it. Pretty chill... I'm glad they're still kickin' it and I still think BT is one of the best out there doing it.
